Pickle & Perk was born out of heart, hustle, and a deep love for the community. Founders Steph and Dave Mayer are a husband-and-wife team with roots that run deep in this small town — a place they’ve watched change, grow, and in recent years, begin to fade. Rather than let it slip into decline, they rolled up their sleeves and got to work.

With backgrounds in real estate, design, and development, Dave and Steph saw the potential to breathe new life into their hometown. Steph, a former news anchor turned designer, brought the vision and aesthetic. Dave, a builder and small-town dreamer, brought the grit and know-how. Together, they surveyed locals, talked to tourists, and studied what was missing. The answer? A place that felt like home — with better coffee and a lot more pickleball.

So they built it.

It’s proof that small towns still matter, that community can be revived, and that when passion meets purpose, even a single corner café can help revitalize a whole town.
